Sunspot Prep Notes!

LOW TIRE Warning Pinpointed to the Right Rear Tire

Well, my day started with a little surprise!  We were caught in one of the rainstorms that hit on Wednesday and we must have picked up this screw in one of the wash downs coming from the Franklins Mountains.  I was able to make it to the day care and the office without any real issues due to having run flats.  To get this taken care of I headed over to Discount Tire on Mesa and they were able to remove the screw and patch the tire in about 45 Minutes.  The service was completely free of charge in case you ever hit such a snag.

Discount tire will also check the air pressure in your tires and fill them up free of charge. You should find some time before the rally to get your tires checked as well.  It doesn’t take long and it will improve your ride and MPGs with one simple check!

Speaking of MPGs, it will be best to fill up prior to heading out on Saturday Morning.  We got a tip from our FB Friend Garrett, “if anyone needs gas, get it in Alamogordo, most stations there have 91, the Cloudcroft Allsups only has 90. Not to mention it’s about 10-20 cents more expensive in Cloudcroft.”

There are quite a few Chevrons and a couple of Texacos that carry good, clean premium fuels for our precision machines. I know you guys only use the best for your cars!  No one wants a engine with dirty intakes slowing things down 😉

Blue dots are Chevrons, Red Dots are Texacos. We hit a few good stations before heading up to Sunspot.
